Hear-Feel →
Hey guys, just thought I’d give you a quick heads up; I’ve decided to stop doing my reviews on here (for those that care, I was never convinced they were popular). But I have set up a new blog dedicated to ambient/electronic/IDM/dream pop etc. reviews if people are still interested.
And while I’m hear I forgot to mention a few weeks ago we crossed 200 followers, so yay!

Jacaszek - Dare Gale
Dare Gale video is based on super 8 shootings made by Michal Jacaszek and Pedro Maia at Porto and results from the work in the dark room using analogue means of light manipulation of the celluloid and superposition film. The super 8 footage and its manipulation of the film is the starting point of a visual exploration resulting from the interplay of ...

Misc. Review #5: In Between Words
Let’s think about the title for a brief moment: In. Between. Words. This album is all about the felt, the experienced, the unspoken. Christoper Bissonnette is already telling us to read between the lines even before we’ve taken a listen.

Misc. Review #3: Dropped Pianos
Tim Hecker’s Ravedeath, 1972 spinoff EP is comprised of initial sketches made while the album was taking shape. Now my Ravedeath review was, I admit, ridiculously long and cumbersome, but it was only because I was struggling to put down in words just how beautiful a release it actually was. The sensational dichtomy of powerful noise/drone balanced by more delicate piano and guitar was...

Misc. Review #2; Going Places
Releasing a final album before a band breaks up is a tricky business; releasing an album 2 years after breaking up is even more difficult. In some cases it is curious to wonder whether they knew it would be their last, trying to use hindsight to detect some sense of melancholy in the work. Yellow Swans don’t even need to pretend, since this album is everything to do with their breakup; they...
