About Us

Onlyambient was the product of a whim, a plan to distribute ambient music to Tumblr and the general Internet at large (without any real knowledge of the genre at the time but with a huge love for it) for the aural pleasure of others.

What it really is, or what it at least became, is the “diary”, if you will, of its creator as he explored the genre and its subgenres, posting relevant music and thoughts as he goes. 

There are plenty of people out there, some of them here on Tumblr, who have been plumbing the depths of the genre far longer than myself, who perhaps are more lucid and coherent in their writings. I don’t pretend to be as informed as these people, or anywhere near as coherent, but I enjoy the genre as much as anyone else and this is simply an expression of that.

All I can say is that I hope you find something a little different here.
